DOGS WELCOME
Muddy paws and all
ON THE CHILTERNS FOOTPATHS, NEAR CHESHAM
A PUB YOU CAN ACTUALLY BRING THE DOG TO
Plenty of pubs say dog friendly and mean one corner by the door. We are proudly dog friendly and we mean the pub. Your dog is welcome with you while you eat, and welcome outside at The Nest when the weather is kind.
We sit right on the footpaths at Ashley Green, between Chesham and Berkhamsted, which makes us a natural spot to start a walk or finish one. A good share of our tables on a weekend are people arriving with a wet dog and an appetite, and nobody here minds either.
WHAT WE PUT OUT
Water bowls, somewhere to tie up outside if you would rather, and a team who will say hello to the dog before they say hello to you. There is parking at the pub, so you are not walking the last half mile along a road.
AFTER THE WALK
The kitchen runs Wednesday to Saturday, midday to half two and six until nine, and Sunday lunch from midday until three. Sunday is our roast, which is the one to book ahead for. Mondays and Tuesdays the kitchen is closed, though the bar is open from five.
THE HOUSE RULES, HONESTLY
Dogs on leads inside please, and not on the furniture — other than that, make yourselves at home. If the pub is full on a Sunday we may ask you to take a table where there is a bit more room around you, which is usually what everybody wanted anyway.
