When you book a table

We ask for your name, your email address, your phone number, how many are coming and when. We use it to hold the table, to let you know if anything changes, and to find your booking when you arrive. It is held in our booking diary and seen by the people working that shift.

When you send us a message or leave feedback

Whatever you write, and the name, email address or phone number you give with it. We use it to answer you and to put right anything that went wrong.

When you sign up for our emails

Your email address, and your name if you give it. We send you what is on at the pub. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click is enough. We do not pass your address to anybody else.

This website

Nothing that counts visitors runs until you press Accept on the cookie notice. If you do, we use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read, with the last part of your internet address removed so it does not point at you. If you press Reject, none of it starts. Either way your choice is remembered in your own browser, and you can clear it whenever you like.

Our Facebook and Instagram pages

If you comment on a post or send the pub a message there, Meta holds that message and shows it to us. What Meta does with it is covered by their own privacy policy, not this one.

Who else sees it

Only the companies that run the parts of this for us: the booking diary, the email sending, and the hosting behind this website. They are not allowed to use your details for anything else. We never sell your details to anybody, and we never pass them on for somebody else to advertise to you.

How long we keep it

Bookings and messages are kept for up to two years so we can look back at a booking or a complaint. Email sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Anything we have to keep for the taxman, such as a receipt, is kept for six years because the law says so.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or tell us to stop emailing you. Email info@thegoldeneaglepub.com or ring 01442 461651 and we will sort it out. We answer within a month. If you think we have got it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Children are very welcome in the pub, but this website is for grown ups to use. We do not knowingly collect anything about a child.
